With our in home care, Cairns NDIS participants can enjoy a range of services that support capacity building and participants’ ability to live independently
As in home care Cairns specialists, we provide a wide variety of supports and other services that assist NDIS participants to achieve their independent development goals, maintain social contact, and live independently as far as possible.
We do this through the provision of a wide range of in-home daily living and disability support services, such as assistance with household tasks, transport to medical and other appointments, and support to take part in social, recreational and community events.
For NDIS participants with complex care needs, we can also provide high intensity daily personal activities support, either at home or in shared NDIS accommodation. This highly personalised care is delivered in conjunction with a participant’s GP and allied health professionals.
We are committed to helping NDIS participants to live and take part in the life of the wider community as far as possible. This includes providing opportunities to participate in inclusive social activities that enhance capacity in an atmosphere of fun, such as arts & crafts, music and games, or developing domestic skills that support independent living.
Memba Care is also able to offer Innovative Community Participation programs so that participants can take part in activities geared towards their specific interests but which fall outside of other community supports.
In addition, we provide community-based nursing care for NDIS participants with a range of medical conditions that require personalised in home care. This includes the management of a stoma or catheter, or treatment of other complex bowel issues, for instance.
One of the key services we provide as an in home care Cairns specialist is NDIS support coordination. We work with prospective participants submitting an application in order to help them get approval for a NDIS Plan. Once a plan is in place, we provide assistance to new participants to find appropriate service providers, engage them and reach appropriate service agreements.
We also help participants to have a greater understanding of their plan and budgets, and how these can be managed to ensure they are getting the best possible value. Further to this, we also run training and programs that are centred on helping participants to develop life skills (either individually or in a group setting), so that they are better equipped to remain living in their own home, or in shared NDIS accommodation.
In addition to centre-based and in home care, Cairns NDIS participants can benefit from our accommodation support services. We can arrange short-term accommodation (STA) for participants for up to 28 days a year, ether as part of their independent development goals or to enable respite for family members delivering informal care.
STA is provided in a group residence with highly personalised care. Our support workers can also assist participants to find appropriate permanent accommodation, and then help them to develop greater capacity so that they are better equipped for independent living.
