The goal of group and centre-based support is to give NDIS participants opportunities to enjoy greater levels of socialisation and engagement with the local community, while still enabling them to live independently and remain in their own homes.
This is in addition to our in home care Brisbane support services, with centre-based support being designed to maintain and develop a range of life skills via group activities and workshops in a communal setting.
Our team of trained and dedicated support workers has developed a range of programs and activities for clients to take part in, either individually or as part of a group. These feature a mix of support, social and recreational activities that are designed to promote inclusion and provide opportunities for social interaction, helping clients to develop new friendship and enhanced feelings of self worth, all in a stimulating atmosphere of fun and shared enjoyment.
The supports we offer include a variety of inclusive activities where new skills can be learnt and developed. For instance, enhance your arts & crafts capability in drawing, painting or photography, play a variety of board and ball games, or learn to sing, dance or play a musical instrument.
We also offer practical activities that help participants to enhance and develop valuable everyday life skills. These include planning, organising and money management techniques, as well as activities based around learning new IT skills, along with support for anyone looking to transition into employment, such as CV writing and completing a job application.
Other group and centre-based support activities include helping participants to develop practical skills that promote independence, and help them to work towards their NDIS individual development goals.
This can include support to develop your cooking skills and overall domestic capability as a means of promoting self confidence, and further assisting participants to live as independently as possible.
All of the support services we provide, whether as part of a group, a centre-based activity or an in-home care package, are designed to enhance participants’ quality of life and promote independent living.
Our support workers are chosen for their caring and compassionate qualities, and their ability to build ongoing relationships with clients. We aim at all times to provide continuity of care, and create a friendly, inclusive environment whether support is centre-based or being provided in your own home.
