Contact Us

We support NDIS participants of all ages to develop a range of daily living and life skills that enable you to live more independently in your own home or in shared NDIS accommodation.

This service can include a very broad range of supports depending on your individual needs, circumstances and living arrangements, and which will be personalised to help you reach your specific development goals.

Benefits of Development Life Skills

As leading in home care Brisbane providers, we deliver a wide variety of development activities and training designed to support participants to enhance the skills and capacity needed to live a more independent life. However, these supports are not limited to the home, and can also assist participants with mobility, travel and using public transport, for instance, so that they are also able to get out and about in the local community.

Therefore, our support workers partner with clients to devise programs of skills development that support both NDIS development goals, and any other personal goals you may have with regard to community involvement, hobbies, sports, employment, education, etc.

Life skills help to promote autonomy and independent living, and so their development is of benefit in innumerable ways. As well as assisting with practical tasks and daily living activities, life skills are also important for resilience, positive behaviour, and being able to respond to the inevitable challenges and setbacks that we all face at one time or another.

Develop specific life skills

Our skills development programs are geared towards meeting the needs of NDIS participants in a wide variety of ways. They can include, for instance, the development of the everyday living skills that will help you to live more independently, such as budgeting, household management, shopping, meal preparation and any other skills that you think you will benefit from.

Whether you want learn to cook and eat more healthily, discover how to best clean and maintain your home, or generally take more care of your overall health and wellbeing, we can help you develop the skills to do these activities, and much more, with greater confidence.

In addition, we can also support you in the development of social skills that are designed to help you participate in the wider community and to take part in social events with greater confidence, such as helping you to enhance your communication skills. Our support workers can also help your to be better equipped to deal with government and other agencies.

Individual and group skill development

Skills development programs can be delivered individually one-to-one, or as part of group-based activities. In this way, as well as helping to build your own capacity, we also assist you to establish and grow an informal support network around you, thereby providing more opportunities for socialisation and community involvement.

In addition, we can also provide training in areas to do with the organisation and management of your plan and NDIS funding, such as problem solving, dispute resolution, and financial acumen. Our experienced support coordinators and plan managers can assist you so that you are better informed and equipped when it comes to selecting appropriate services and providers for your needs, negotiating beneficial service agreements, and getting the best possible value from your NDIS funding.
